aloha!
HELLO!!
Well, it has been a loooong busy week and as a result I wasnt able to update my blog.
Hmm...to sum up the last 7 days...
Last friday I had to meet up with Mr. Kevin D'Souza of Microsoft to decide on various plans for Microsoft Student Champs for the next semester.
On Saturday I had to deliver a session at RV College of Engineering regarding Microsoft's Academic Developer Program and the various initiatives for the academia, this was followed by a BDotNETStudent user group meet also at RVCE, where three Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (Mr. Vinod; Mr. Rajiv and Mr. Manoj) delivered great sessions on .NET and also showed some cool demos!
On Sunday I had to attend a family friend's wedding and that took up most of the day.
On Monday I was busy making final preparations for my department's technical fest at college, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. A friend and myself ran around quite a bit getting the banners and posters and certificates ready...
On Tuesday the preliminary round for various events took place in college...I took part in On Spot Programming using C/C++ and qualified for the finals the next day!!
Wednesday was the big day of the fest and for our inauguration ceremony the chief guest was Mr. Kevin D'Souza, Academic Developer Evangelist, Microsoft! Kevin delivered an awesome seminar on .NET and also showed a C# demo and another one on how to develop applications for mobile devices! The session was just too good and all the students and faculty really enjoyed it. Later on in the day I had my OSP finals and did pretty well, although there was some confusion regarding one of our outputs...Until it is resolved my team is tied with another at first place. That evening I relaxed and took some much needed rest!
Thursday was quite ok, worked on my projects a bit and also attended the department fest of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at college. It was a cultural event unlike ours and was good fun.
Finally today (Friday), the Quiz Finals was held. I hosted the quiz and it went on rather well. Everybody appreciated the questions (for which I must thank Sunil and Sharath for their help) especially the audience round questions! The audience won themselves Academic Resource Kits for their answers!
Later on in the day, my friends and myself went out to Pizza Hut to celebrate a friend's birthday! Had some great yummy food!
Now I have to give some final touches to phase one of a project, which I have to forward to Sunil for adding his part to it. I also need to read up some stuff on socket programming for my computer networks project.
As I said earlier it was a looong week! And I can only see the next few weeks getting worse with acdemics taking center stage. I need to complete, test and debug my three projects of this semester atleast before 25th December, because my practical exams start on 27th December....
Only another 20 days are left for the last working day of 7th semester and of my engineering course, after which start my practical exams, then study holidays and from January 18th my theory exams start. 8th semester is a project semester with classes only once a week in college (the remaining days of the week are to be spent in some company or organisation (in my case Perot Systems TSI)
So this will pretty much be my last few days in college...
