Steve Ballmer Live!
Today my fellow student champs and I had the honour of meeting with Mr. Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft Corporation at the Leela Palace, Bangalore!
Let me just walk you through what happened -
All of us gathered at the entrance to the Ball Room at around 4:30 PM, where we registered ourselves (Sharath somehow managed to sneak in as a student champ!). Tea and coffee was then served (hmm...is this the same coffee the hotel charges Rs. 103 only including taxes for?!)
We then had a pleasant surprise when we were told that the 2nd and 3rd row of seats were reserved exclusively for the student champs! We were given higher preference than the Microsoft employees themsleves! I think I saw Mr. Chandar seated somewhere in the fourth row!
The crowd quickly and quietly settled into their seats and soon enough SteveB entered the room!
After some quick introductions and other formalities, SteveB took centre stage and spoke quite animatedly about Microsoft and where the company is headed. This was followed by a Q&A session with the audience and where Deepthi Rao had the privilege of asking SteveB a well appreciated non-technical question (one of the few non-tech questions of the day!)
The Q&A session was followed by tea and some really tasty food!
The champs then gathered around and discussed some issues regarding BDotNETStudent (The Bangalore .NET Student User Group), of which I am the assistant manager.
The meet ended and all champs left for home, happy about the memorable evening with SteveB!
It's back to all the pending work now :(
College reopens tomorrow after a nice long break...Sigh...
Goodnight folks...
